When and where: 2006-09-15 - Montana's Cookhouse

We are from Montreal and each time we go to Ottawa, Empire Grill is on the top of our list. The veal medallion is so tender and tasty. As far as the mussels, we were not impressed. Overall, even if our bill is never under 150$ we still ove this nice restaurant. You should go!!!

When and where: 2006-09-06 - Pégase (Le)

Overall: Value: Ambiance: Service: Food:

It was the first time that we went to Le Pégase and honnestly, we were extremely surprised with the quality of the food for the price. We took "la table gourmade" and it was worth the price. The escargot in caramelized and blue cheese was EXCELLENT. The veal was tender and melted in your mouth. We also took the "foie gras" and it was incredible. I love the simplicity of the restaurant. Nothing to jump for when you see the decor but as most people we go for the food not the decoration. All this to say that Le Pégase is now on our list of favorite restaurant. Congrats! BTW, the waitress is probably the nicest and calmest person that ever served me.

When and where: 2006-08-31 - El Meson

Overall: Value: Ambiance: Service: Food:

I was extremely dissapointed with El Meson. The Sangria is not really good (go figure for a mexican restaurent). The food was so so. I do not feel any love and the preparation of the plates. The food doesn't have that "taste" that you look for in a Mexican restaurent. We were at least 8 people and we all took something diffrent. We tasted everyone's food and the only thing that I tasted was the guacomole. Really dissapointed :-(
