I have to admit that I still very much enjoy the food at Kaizen, the service however must be improved. I have gone to Kaizen 5 times in the last four months and each time my party and I had to wait unreasonable amounts of time for food, drinks, but not for the bill. The sushi is great, as is their decadent chocolate souffle. However, its really annoying when you ask for a dessert and the waiter says that theyve run out of it- on more than one occassion, that simply should not happen in such a restaurant. Also, their martinis are incredibly small for the price.

I did like this restaurant at one point in time, but lately I have found that the service and menu are uninspired at best. You can definetly find better Italian cuisine elsewhere, like Il Cortile, next door neighbour to Bice and I should know, I am and grew up with Italian cooking and the tricks needed to evaluate said dished. Also, the environment has gone from classy to trashy; having more of a St-Laurent restaurant feel to it then a classic Italian restaurant on Sherbrooke W. I went to the Bice in New York City and had a completely different experience, maybe the Montreal restaurateur is doing something wrong.
