A favourite standby for more than ten years now. Empanadas are excellent as always...too bad the cheese one is no longer available in single units. Quesadillas, sandwiches and burritos also quite yummy. The sauce, however, is not what it used to be (possibly not homemade anymore?) Note that the Napoleon location isn't the only one: they're also on Marie Anne just west of Clark. (Not sure which came first, but the Marie Anne location is the much-expanded one mentioned in some other reviews.)

Reservoir is a brewpub, and they generally do a very good job with the beer. (Mainly old standards: blanche, blonde, bitter, stout, pale ale, with some relatively uncommon items from time to time.) The kitchen aims much higher than your typical watering hole, and in my limited experience succeeds brilliantly. The menu seems to change fairly frequently, so don't expect to find items mentioned in reviews here...but I've always been impressed with the snacks. And if you just want a drink, it's a very pleasant spot where you won't find yourself under pressure to eat if you don't want to. Can be a bit noisy at times, but on the plus side the slick modern design belies a laid-back attitude and very diverse clientele.

I have to commend the kitchen and wait staff for coordinating everything with perfect timing for our large group. So, top marks for service and ambiance. However, I have to agree with those who say the quality-price ratio here is not very good: the food is decent, but in my opinion not worth the prices charged (the table d'hôte is currently $55 -- no coffee included). If you do go, stick with meats such as caribou, lamb and veal. Since this is a fairly upscale BYO, you will do best here if you look into the menu beforehand and shop carefully for good wine to match. You're doing yourself a disservice if you show up with any old plonk.

They really know how to work the grill here for both meat and veggies (haven't tried fish yet, but I won't hesitate next time), the mussels are super-garlicky and dry (in a very, very good way), grilled octopus simply outstanding, the cold appetizers are super...I just can't say enough good things about Philinos. It's a very popular spot, and it's well-earned. Long may it flourish. One knock: some items are a bit pricey, but c'est la vie. Still a fun and filling mid-range splurge, and you can always order on the cheap if you need to.
